My stay at the Griffin Hotel was a mix of positive experiences and notable drawbacks. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel has a nice natural setting with beautiful views. However, the lack of on-site service and limited breakfast options left a lot to be desired. Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects, it could be improved in several key areas.
Rooms
8.0
The rooms are large and comfortable, featuring separate sink areas, which is a nice touch, but there are some downsides like noise from neighboring rooms.
Service
5.0
Service was somewhat lacking due to no front desk on site, making it difficult when issues arose, but responsiveness via email was a plus.
Location
7.0
The location is quite isolated, making walking difficult, but it is near a lovely hiking trail and has serene views of ponds and wildlife.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was quite disappointing, essentially consisting of just snacks and basic items, which did not meet expectations for a hotel stay.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel has made recent investments in upgrades, and while it shows, the lack of essential on-site facilities detracts from the overall experience.

I had a lovely stay at The Griffin, enjoying the spacious room and beautiful surroundings, but the breakfast experience was a letdown. The room was clean and comfortable, but I encountered some issues with plumbing that detracted from my overall enjoyment. The lack of an actual continental breakfast as advertised was disappointing. Overall, I appreciated the serene atmosphere but expected more from the dining options.
Rooms
6.0
The room was quite large and featured a sitting area with a nice private patio, but I found bugs and cobwebs throughout upon arrival.
Service

The service was warm and professional, although my request for acknowledgment of the breakfast issue was met with indifference.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! It was perfectly tucked away in a quiet and beautiful woodlands setting, but still just a short stroll from the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. My room was spacious and impeccably clean, which made for a very comfortable experience. The breakfast was simple but provided just enough to start the day. On the downside, while the maid service was excellent, the check-in process could have been more efficient. Overall, I highly recommend it for a peaceful getaway.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location was perfect for our family reunion, with plenty of activities and spacious rooms to accommodate all of us. While much of the hotel was enjoyable, I did have some issues with cleanliness in our room, particularly with the carpet and balcony. However, the service we received throughout our stay was noteworthy and made up for some of the shortcomings. Overall, it was a memorable visit.

I had a wonderful stay at the Griffin Hotel, with spacious rooms and a peaceful location just steps away from Colonial Williamsburg. The cleanliness of the rooms was impressive, and while the staff was generally friendly, there were a few hiccups with the dining options and some areas needing updates. Overall, it was a fantastic value for the experience, and I plan to return.

The rooms were very spacious and well-maintained, although some areas like the sheer drapes needed refreshing. The huge bathroom and comfortable beds made our stay even better.
